New Year Bell Ringing Ceremony 2019

This is the poster I designed for New Year Bell Ringing Ceremony 2019 of Tsz Shan Monastery. The aim of ceremony is through ringing the bell to leave behind any unfortunate experiences, regrettable deeds or ill luck from the previous year, and herald the start of a prosperous new year.
Dark blue base is used here to present the theme of this mid-night ceremony. Golden line, standing for sound and light, representing positive energy is spreading out all people through the ringing of the bell in the dark. To balance both the sense of tradition and modern of the design, serif font is used to keep the seriousness of this religious event and the typography is fine-tuned by adding line with illustration to demonstrate and strengthen the sense of modern.
